Let’s Get Started
What’s the
first step?
The first step with otoplasty is to schedule a private, informative consultation with Dr. Sitapara in Columbia/ Howard County, Maryland (right outside of Baltimore). Once your candidacy has been confirmed, you will likely be asked to follow a specific set of instructions in order to prepare for surgery. You may be asked to:
- Stop smoking at least 4-6 weeks before surgery in order to encourage proper healing
- Avoid taking blood thinners, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements, which can increase the risk of bleeding
- Stay well-hydrated in the weeks leading up to surgery
- Arrange for someone to drive you home after surgery
- Plan ample time for rest and recovery after otoplasty
- Do not eat or drink anything prior to surgery on the day of your appointment
- Wear comfortable clothing with buttons in front on the day of surgery
